My front subframe assembly has hit another hitch, I need to organise the carb
so I know how to setup the govnor lever on the back before the whole lot goes in the car.

I have a HIF44 carb, and a 1.5 something too.
I figured the 44 would be the 44 would be the way to go, but I don't have the levers and
govnor rods needed to get that to work. I have access to the parts to make the 1.5 work, the local mini guy has some of them around.
He doesn't know if the 44 will go on mwith the same levers, and has not dealt with a 44 on an auto before either.

Just wondering, what can people tell me about 1.75 carbs on autos, and is a 1.5 too small a carb for a 1275?

Thanks.
:D :D

My wife has a morris 1100S (1275) and it has a 1.5 SU. It goes very well but the atuned ear can hear it is not sucking enough air/fuel at the top of the revs.

The HIF44 is a better and bigger carby but it has to be needled to suit your particualr engine.

Could be a bit tricky with a carby, it needs the kick down to be fitted, Do you have the injection system?

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

I have a HIF38 on mine. Runs great! But anything other than a HS4 and you will probably have linkage issues. I had to make up an operating lever for the kick-down cos the throttle arm is on the opposite side.

I can take some pics if you want.

Cheers,

That would be great! :D

That is if it's not too much trouble to fish around down in the moke bay.
