pfft, I want to put the cartridge back on my S... very hard to undo the spin on filter without undoing the screws that hold the oil cooler in and pulling it out of the way.... bastard of a thing!

Ge thee a 3 leg oil filter undoer, best thing since sliced bread. Essential for Ford EA-AU 6 cylinder, which is why I bought it.
On a Cooper S you can leave the cooler in situ, undo filter and drop it down thru the subby corner under radiator.
Mine is a T&E Tools #4278, made in USA but there are cheapo copies everwhere.
It sits on your socket entension.

You're not participating fully in a mini oil change unless there is oil dripping from your elbows and running all the way down to your underarms. Spin on filters do not allow this essential part of mini experiences to occur.

What..like this?
