The originals were fibreglass from the front of the roof back, the windscreen being raked back a bit. But the proper way to do it is in steel and alloy.

I bought a couple of so-called "Broadspeed" dashboards. They're made of fibreglass and look quite snappy but i've never seen one pictured in a Broadspeed mini. The Broadspeed minis i have interior pictures of have the normal oval binnacle. :?

Can anyone find a pic of the fibrglass dash in a Broadspeed mini to confirm that they are in fact made by Broadspeed. I'm starting to suspect it's a story that someone made up and everyone else didn't know so it was believed by all.

looks like a mini crossed with a fiat 600 sports (i think thats what they are)
not bad. i liked the pic of a early mini roadster that now resides in japan, it looks like the back end came from a mg midget.

They are lovely aren't they? I think Church Green was one of those little businesses that had big plans but in the end their product was too expensive and when the Japanese economy dived they disappeared.

There was an excellent article in Mini World (Sep '96), showing how they made them, I stumbled on these scans from somewhere else when I searched for them.

You can still get a mini sprint made by Neville Tricket though

The rear window looks way to big needs to be be like an oval aka early VW's, some radfords had them but they went way to small, and if your thinking big open wiindows along side something closer to australian market, ealry Monaro's and very sexy, My Dad had one new and I remember sitting in back so open and great air flow, another car he later had was a Celica early 70's had no window frame cant think how back window was though

Ealry monaro and will find a picture of Celica too

The link below lists all the Mini variants, including the Broadspeed GT (halfway down the page). There are images, specs, options, etc.

There was one of them at watto's BDO. It's in the current TME, too.

That Unipower in our mag wasn't at the BDO, it was at Minis Down Under in Sydney and is owned by Warwick Agustin.

In Issue 12 (I am currently working on Issue 11) I will have the full story of the Australian Broadspeed, including photos of one road car and the race car - as they are today. Good pics of the dash too. Molina, I think you'll find (in fact I'm certain) that your dash is from an Aussie Broadspeed - very different from UK model.

Cheers,
Watto.
