i was going around a 270 degree mergin loop onto the high-way today after a 10 hour shift at work on the checkouts and woulddn't you know it, some-one is reversing up it. hit the brakes (drums, gotta love em), (addmitedly i was going 10km/ph above the recomended turning speed) saled through the gap i had between them and the side gutter they were half in the hard shoulder and half in my lane and reversing in a straight line further into my lane. i belive it was a red honda civic hatch back with a white boot (i wonder why the boot was a different colour  ), must have had about 40 cm on both sides of me. kinda scary at 55km/ph on a blindish curve when your speeding up to get onto the highway.

p.s: further along highway some-one else was reversing up the hard shoulder, so i gave a toot of the horn to show my diss-aprooving.

Glad to hear you made it ok, I'm sure you'll be looking out for another tool next time you go around that loop.

Recently I've seen two near misses from people who decide to stop on a main road and then simply start to reverse without any concern for what it behind them.

I hope that it reminds you that you never know what is around the corner.

One driving teacher used to say that you had to remember that around every blind corner or crest was a drunk driving a steamroller. I have never met that drunk but I have always remembered the message.

40cm on each side is still plenty. A miss is as good as a mile!

Some people reverse in the most dangerous situations, I was driving home the other night on the M5, and hears a woman ,(in a landcruiser), reversing back onto the freeway from an exit !!!!!!!!!!! . Anyway I'm glad you got out of it without any scares...except maybe some bite marks on your cars seat.. :)

Zack adn I were going into a car park the other week, and while waiting for the cars to move further on into the car park a car started backing out of its park towards us..... not a nice feeling.
