if your talking about sliding window doors, it clicks over a rivet type stud fixed to the door. delux type,clubman type (wind ups) are a press fit. no studs involved

im pretty sure you just have to press it on really hard untill you hear it lock onto the door frame. i hear its a PITA to get the trims off

Mungral job to get off without damaging, and can be tricky to get back on.

Do it evenly bit by bit otherwise you may end up bending it. Be careful and use paitence.

Pulled mine off just the other day.
Bent them like crazy, and stripped half the paint off the door.

I don't care though, I don't like the chrome round there.
