Took the sh*tbox up to the Atherton Tablelands 2day to my panel beater. It enjoyed taking it easy, kickin back on the trailer, while my crappadore did all the hard work pulling it up the Kuranda Range.... I dont think my Auto enjoyed it... Ah well, it gets a new one next week.

Nothings wrong with the car, its just going in for some minor surgery of the front section of the front wheel arch.

I'm glad you finally noticed, I was going to point it out in an earlier thread but thought better of it. :P

Seriously, I really admire your patience and attention to detail, two qualities that I don't have. :)

I had a ROVER front apron panel fitted to the car back in 97 after a little bit of a shunt with a pole. It was bought through Mini Kingdom to suit 60's Mini.

But afterwards when i tried to run a wider track the front edge of the tyre fouled on the front edge of the wheel arch during lock to lock turns....... So ive been stuck with drums and a narrow front track.... But now that ive done the Honda Civic Disc Brake conversion, I now have a wider track again so this problem has to be fixed...

I bought these Dunlop DO1J's as they are a slightly lower profile tyre, but that didnt help....

So the only option now is to cut it.. hopefully the front end wont need to be resprayed.....!

I know that Steve (justminis) had similar dramas with his car when it got a new ROVER front apron also....

Obviously if he drove it there how would Brad end up getting home Al? If it get trailered he can drop it off and then drive home while it gets fixed.

I don't blame him - I would probably do the same thing - beats walkin' home!

The range itself is still a good road. Nice and smooth... But its still only single lane either way, and the amount of tourists/ buses/ trucks/ UFOs/ motorbikes/ mountainbikes that use that range is just ridiculous. U cant have fun on that range anymore unless its like 5 in the morning.

I had to chop out my guards too due to the increased track width. Oain in the arse when you think you have finished.
