The HP difference between the engines wouldn't really matter, though of course in a race car you are always aiming for the maximum. Both engines would need to be able to rev to the same limit. Would be quite an experience to drive, but needs a lot of work end big $$$$$ to get it there.

Way back in 1973 my boss at Rheem was a dude named Peter Tett. he ran a rallycross 1275 Mini at Catalina Park. One of his ideas was to put an 1100S automatic in the back, but i don't know if he ever did it. 8)
