i willing to pay upto $20K for the right car if i find one can some one tell me if im one the track with the money im will to pay or an i to low or high for this type of car?

i have seen two so far and was not im happy with what was on offer eg rust in rear pillers near rear window the other was mark 11 with a mark 1 motor and didnt have a brake booster.

i have downloaded what a cooper s should have on it and it didnt match but the tag was for a mark 11 coopers.

if anyone knows of a cooper s for sale please let me know or wher i can find one so far im looking on carsales.com.au and tradingpost as well as mini car clubs web pages around australia. im willing to travel for the right car.

In my opinion for $20K you should get a recently restored , matching numbers cooper s so you're looking at the upper end of them . I think an older resto or unrestored but driving and registerred would be about $8K to $12K but there are a lot of variables involved .

Welcome Chris...have you searched the For Sales on Ausmini....Coopers don't generally move fast (cept under cover of darkness  ) as it is a subjective and emotional purchase...not to mention the semolians required. Good Luck.

Chris, It's a shame that we have to grill you like this, it's not your fault, unfortunately due to the low life activities of the criminal element, I'm afraid some of the openess of these forums may be lost.

However, the information is not lost, so try asking your questions in a different way! Or search for info already here, there is a lot of it!

AFAIK any 1970 Mk2 should have a chassis plate, if it has lost this, the information on the radiator shroud is next most important. If there is nothing there it will be very dificult to determine if it's a genuine car, or a looky likey

Then it should be priced as per a nice mini with a few extra's ! 8)

I agree it is a shame that due to a few undesirables we have become on the back foot with giving information straight and directly. Best of luck with finding what you want. See you at the next general meeting of the club possibly.
