Yeah people who say 'real car' crap, simply feel inadequate about themselves and feel the need to be little you in order to make themselves feel bigger.

99% of the tiem things are great, but you do get dickheads, two weeks ago a guy in the school carpark decided it would be 'fun' to sit on the roof of my dad's mini whist I yell at him to get off, well now there are two fat dents in the roof, and he doesn't care.

Meh, i'm over the anger, still considering taking the dude to court. But anyways, don't feel like discussing that, it just shows people are jealous and say or do stupid things to your car for this reason.

I grew up in a different era - one with drive in movies, the main street of Parramatta was a drag strip after midnight on a saturday night and then there was the brickies.

Everyone had a mini at some stage and all sort of flowers were offered up in mini's

The real joy these days is to be parked and see a woman of my age walk past the mini and just smile to herself. I can look at her and say - yeah I know !!!!

Slinkey - take him for it! Teach him to respect other people's property. :x 8)

Pinky, I'm surprised it's easy for you to wear neon green heels in Dubai!

I usually get pretty positive looks, or expressions of absolute shock. My car is loud - very loud. People are always looking for the sports car coming from the distance, then get a shock when it's me! One builder almost fell off a roof in shock when he saw I was the car blasting up the hill! But they usually give me the thumbs up. Same with kids. Although some mothers (even in my neighbourhood, where I drive slowly) rush their kids off the road, and look at me angrily. :x I reckon they should just keep their kids off the road - it's not a playground! My two year old doesn't play in the street...

Anyway, at the end of the day, whether it's worth driving a Mini isn't judged by anything other than what you think of the experience. And for mine, there aren't many cars that come closer, especially for a reasonable price.

I didn't beleive in the first place someone will do something stupid as that; like yelling at you and be rude to you and your mini. But until a while ago I was driving my mini home after dinner with friends at the Rocks and close to a red night there were some hoons in a crap car keep yelling and intimidating to me and the car just right behind me.

I just took off ASAP when the light turn green, cus dunno if they will chuck their VB bottle at my car (yes drink and drive). Fortunately, they missed their target (my car) by a very narrow margin. Didn't know if they did the same to the car behind since I just sped off.

Then I swear I won't drive a Mini out at night ever again, though it might be a little hard.

 Sure it's no problem at all! You can go out in whatever outfit you want. But if you wear a mini skirt you can be sure all the Indian workers will stop and stare
