alright now beofre i go pulling everything out
im plannig to get it all rewired and everything but am not sure wat needs to be left in for the autoelectrician so ill put it out there if theres any auto electricians on here
and also is it better to get it rewired bfore or after the engine goes in

cheers bob

Rewire with the engine out - much easier by far

Are you buying a new loom? - if you are it should come with all the connectors but just in case it doesn't I'd take the old one out as intact as possible and hang it up in a corner in case you have to raid it later

Tip when replacing the new loom it is easier to pass it through the hole in the triangle brace near the fuse box from the front NOT the from the firewall side

Around $400 - http://www.vinwire.com.au/ is one place, there are a couple of others - try a search on this site - it has been a regular topic. I got mine through Northern Minis in Melbourne (cause I was down there at the time) who in turn got it from WA. The order got stuffed up -I had ordered the plastic coated and it came in original cotton coated (normally extra) but I got it for the quoted price of $330- glad it did as I think it looks heaps better

Dead easy- it should be colour coded the same as the wiring diagram - follow your nose ( and the diagram ) The wires come out of the harness at the right points - you just then hook them up when the engine is back in . - Take a lot of colour photos of things like regulators etc before you pull the old wire off

thats the answer i wanted to hear
soit would probly be an idea to leave all the wiring in intil i get the newone so i can see where to disconnect the old one other wise it might not reach where it has to go would this be right
or is there connectors that i can just disconnect and the harness will go straight back to those points
cheers bob

The lengths and connectors should all be right where you need them. Only slight hic up I had was a couple of colours were not what they should have been - but when two wires where the horn should be are brown and black instead of purple and black and they come out at the horn push button I guess they will work.
