Yeah people who say 'real car' crap, simply feel inadequate about themselves and feel the need to be little you in order to make themselves feel bigger.

99% of the tiem things are great, but you do get dickheads, two weeks ago a guy in the school carpark decided it would be 'fun' to sit on the roof of my dad's mini whist I yell at him to get off, well now there are two fat dents in the roof, and he doesn't care.

Meh, i'm over the anger, still considering taking the dude to court. But anyways, don't feel like discussing that, it just shows people are jealous and say or do stupid things to your car for this reason.

play a game with him and see how many poeple you can get on his roof,

i have to admit, i neva got any anger towards me when i was driving my mini, mainly laughs ( although i think it was more at the 6"2 bloke driving a mini)
Although had countless people ask how much it is worth! they are certainly something special!

The real joy these days is to be parked and see a woman of my age walk past the mini and just smile to herself. I can look at her and say - yeah I know !!!!

And I bet you stand taller and suck your gut in as well Mike... I know I do but the problem is I can't stand any taller being a short arse and the gut wont go as far back as it used too.... :?

I get plenty of nice comments about my LS from people of all ages...

Hahaha - nah - I meant I know why they smiled to themselvesd - its not at me - its memories of things (possibly their first) they did in a mini way back.

As for standing tall - well I am 5'7" and the gut is generous also

Don't worry the anger is all bottled up ready to be unleashed with fury, but where to be realesed and how is the question - disclaimer, nothing illegal.

Don't forget the dudes who used to take bets who could get from the Big Chief drive in `restaurant' in Granville down to the The Gong first... they stuck $20 bills on their aerials...
And the mad dude in the old Holden who used to tip diesel on Parramatta Rd when it was raining... da Police F-100s used to weave nicely then.
Ah yes the memories..... :D

I always get a wave and a smile while in my moke.

I have even been stopped on the road by a bloke who use to make them.

Kids smile and the silly bugger int the WRX looked twice as I dogged him around the round abouts - he blew off my doors - oops I dint have any - in a straight line but I had him trying hard on the corners.

And Glovers service station open till after midnight - a wooden driveway with full driveway service. At the T intersection of Parrsmmatta Rd, Woodville Rd and Church Street. These days its the on ramp to the M4. Then after the Rivoli Dance on Friday night or the Sound Lounge on Saturday Night it was off up to the Coffee Shop in Baulkham Hills or if that was too full then off to the one in Round Corner Dural - I cant remember the names of either.

If you didn't have a girl from either of the above then as Doc says it was off to the Big Chief to watch the wheelies being dumped or on down to the Brickies, a drag strip in Underwood Road Homebush and hope your car did not get harassed and defected by the cops who were determined to stop the drag racing.

BTW I remembered a story  When I bought my first Mini (also a 40 and at that time he was factory new) I "ran into" someone I knew in the parking lot at the shopping center. She looked at the Mini pulled up and eyebrow and asked me whether I couldn't afford a descent car anymore

And that coming from someone driving a 3rd hand 15 year old Golf that's falling apart

I once got in my car at Mc Donalds and heard 3 13ish yo boys walk behind my car saying "aww cool, check out the mini!". So I got in the car real chuffed and started it and I heard one of them say "sounds like sh*t but!" (lcb + one lil muffler) and it broke my heart, I grabbed reverse, backed out of the park, crunched first and sheared the bolt off the front bracket of the exhaust... and I dumped the clutch and set off every car alarm in the car park!

It made me feel real good but real bad at the same time, because the kids sh#t them selfs but I had the pipe hanging off from the extractors... I stopped around the corner when I was away from them and ripped the pipe off... then the cops came... fun night

I usually get smiles and waves when I'm driving nice and only get bad looks and abuse when I come along walkers and cyclists on the bike tracks
