They share the same manifold!

In theory the CD Stromberg is a better carb. In theory. 8)

I have a shedload of them. About 3 sets of XU1 tripples. They are often on Ebay.

There is no reason why you couldnt install it. Better idle and mixture control than an SU.

Before everyone gets carried away with the value of a CD 175 Stromberg.
I should point out that the carburettor pictured is most likely off a Volvo 244 or something Britsh from the 70s to 80s.
And as such probably worth zip on it's own.
Parts are not interchangeble with the SU.
If it is in good condition, it will work very well, However I would use an SU on a mini.

Unless you have the tagged code number (similar to the part number tags on a new SU) for the XU1 carburettors, you would have to be very familiar with their differences.

I'm not going to go through the finer points, just letting you know how different they can be.

SUs were never used by Holden on anything, even the first sidedraft HA Toranas from 1967 had a Stromberg (Zenith 1.50)

John.

I got twin 175 Stomburgs from a 3.5 V8 Range Rover. Was going to use one on the mini but wasn't going to fit in, too wide (SC12 kit, normal mini, should be fine).

I'm keeping both, with the little linkage, for the Rvoer V8 in the sed, for a possible future MGB conversion. (Not likely, but hey you never know!)

I'd say their not worth much, my two for 80 bucks are in really nice condition, but haven't used them, but the appear to be in good order. But you never know.
