Found these in my photo collection........

ROTARY POWERED, 5 SPEED, REAR WHEEL DRIVE, ROOF CHOP

Slightly oversized tyres too...... Note how the gearbox has to go OVER the steering rack.

"...Now, if we can just get 400HP out of it......" Thats my kinda toy.....Gotta love it.

Wrong way to do it...
Put it amidships on a transaxle, driving rear wheels. Then it might get traction and handle too! 8)

WTF  now thats dangerous( sorry about the spelling ) and messy. here go to this website, you mite have seen it before but it is an ok website for this kind of topic www.16vminiclub.com . i think id rather stick to a V-TEC. a fair bit of people have done it and you know it is possible and wont be a messy job.

FWD and AWD conversions I can understand, buy why kill the Mini handling for common old RWD? :x

If someone wants a RWD, go and buy an Escort, Gemini or any number of small, good handling RWD cars.

found this, its not in a mini but shows that a rotary can still be adapted to a fwd gearbox so might squeeze into a mini.

hmmm.. yeah, the more i think about it... theres no way a 323 FWD gearbox could take that kinda power, without expensive upgrading....
