The base and pole were cemented in to the ground. The complete Mini was hoisted up with a forklift.

The car is finished in lovely 'Massey Fergusen' red. Luggo said he had plenty to spare.

Ian wanted to put the 'Mini on a stick' closer to town to make it like the 'ute on a pole' that the neighbouring town of Deniliquin has

but the political powers that be in the Hay council didn't like the idea. It'll be a permanent fixture on his property for many years to come.

i reckon someone should take the cones out, and replace the shockers with short bars to get the wheels back up..

it'd look sweet then...

and it'd drive pretty cool too :P

I love it, but being out of town, is anyone worried about locals and idiots passing through smashing windows and using the 850 as target practice?

Did they lock it before they put it there so that it doesn't get broken into?

yeah i dont see the point of putting it in a paddock in the middle of nowhere,

putting it IN hay would be awesome though, i cant believe the council would not want something like that, its sure to attract people and passers by and that can only be a good thing for a country town.

All the older street signs around here have bullet holes in them (usually only really small holes, but still holes!). Most of those signs have since been replaced, but this sort of crap does happen, but I'd hope people wouldn't do it to a mini, but a road sign, who cares lol? But a mini, I care.
