It's a bastard of a job to say the least.

You have to remove the tube nut from inside the engine bay, and fit a large socket on the nut, holding the underside hose with the correct size spanner to stop it turning (though if replacing it damage won't matter).
If the parts are partucularly rusty or oldand seized the job gets a lot harder.
Give it a good soak wd40 maybe.

Thankfully, putting it together again is easier, as you arent working against the locking washer between the subframe and nut.

:D

you've gotta undo that big nut on the subframe.... even if you got it undone, you'd need to tighten it up again, so go buy a 15/16 socket or spanner - spanner is best on that one so you can check it's tight after you put the switch in, or if it moves/needs turning

there are several of 15/16 nuts on a mini, I use mine fairly regularly - one of the 'must haves'

15/16 is the nut on the inside/subframe.
The lower nut on the hose is smaller.
Tubenuts are 5/16 from memory.

:D

The tube nipples are 7/16 A/F size.
Best to use a single hex 7/16 flare nut spanner, failing that get a 7/16 ring spanner and cut a slot with angle grinder so it fits over the pipe.
If you use an open ender it distorts the nipple's hex head and rounds it off.
