What would a Starlet or Suzuki engine mini be classed as? Non mini FWD or class C? Just curious.

Lynda, i think you should know the facts. myself & buggsy judged the class that your car was entered into, the top 2 cars were seperated by 1 point, unfortunatley for you your car was the loser.

Any car that was entered in the class & had non original features where judged & had points deducted accordingly.

Please take your wonderful little "Sally" to hay again, it's a fantastic little car. I actually voted for it in peoples choice.

I think you should all go back and read page one of what Kyoda has written. Then go and read the Mini Experience with the feature on Hay.

HAY was born out of fun. Yes their was rivalry, but at the end of the day it was fun. As julie said, back in the day not everyone could get their mini to Hay, so they took their OTHER cars down.

As the event at that stage was as MUCH FOR FUN as it was for COMPETITION those without minis AT HAY were able to compete in NON MINI classes, because they were at HAY for the fun of meeting up with the other clubs.

Its always been competetive, but it has also always been fun.
If you really have a problem with the way the RULES RULES RULES (thats RULES for those that missed it) are, stop competing at HAY. It really is as SIMPLE as that.

(I have tried to use monosymbolic words - thats short words for those that dont understand - so that certain individuals can understand what I am saying)

IN SUMMARY.

HAY HAS RULES SET. THE SMART PEOPLE COMPETE WITHIN THE RULES. IF YOU ARE NOT SMART ENOUGH TO COMPETE WITHIN THE RULES DONT COME TO HAY.

ALL THIS JUST STINKS OF POOOOOOOR LOOOOOOOOSERS.

So Sally was in the top 2 then for her class? I just didnt understand how the most original category worked? Was she beat by the dark blue LS with the leathery seats?
Just want to know so I can prepare her better for next year thats all.

Class A - up to 1050cc Mini
Class B - 1051 to 1250cc Mini
Class C - 1251cc and over Mini
Class D - BMW Mini
Class E - Mokes (all capacities)
Class F - All R.W.D. vehicles
Class E - All non-Mini F.W.D. vehicles
Only classes A - D are eligible for the Hay Hero Challenge.
All competitors in the khana have two runs each at the following tests:-
- Square Slalom
- Corridor
- Straight Slalom
- Double Hat
- Spiro Slalom
- Trefoil
The competitors best time at each event is added up to give them a total time for all events.

The Hay Hero Challenge is run at the end of the main motorkhana. Two Minis run side by side in a shortened straight slalom course. Competitors then swap lanes and run again. Both times from each lane are added together to give a total time. All winners of the individual classes then run off against each other for an outright Hay Hero winner.

Class placegetters in the motorkhana and Hay Hero challenge all accumulate points for their club which goes toward the G.B.S Teams trophy (won by the Mini Car Club of NSW this year).

- Sunday night is the presentaion get together in the local community hall. Trophies are awarded to the show 'n' shine winners as well as the following for the motorkhana:-

Top Ten, OUTRIGHT
J.K.S. (John K Stoneham) Award for the highest placed class A to E car
G.B.S. Club Award
1st in Classes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G
2nd in Classes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G
Additional Class Awards: A, B, C, D, E, F, G

Age 12 to 14 (Junior) Male and Female
Age 15 to 17 (Junior) Male and Female

its the only nationals we have, and it doesnt seem to be in the spirit of the event to be fighting about a stupid rule every year.

I for one would change that rule which is not being used for the original intention which as you mentioned which was to include everyone even if they couldnt bring a mini,
rather than lets run non minis to get points to win the trophy, which seems to be not at all in the spirit of fun.

i should also say that the arguing and hostility makes me wanna stay the hell away from hay,
and as you mentioned if you dont like the rule dont go to hay..
well i dont agree with that, we want more people to come and make the event bigger and better and more fun with less agro.
