Luckily for you, there's no spelling test

For Hillclimbs and Motorkhanas (as well as Sprints), you'll need to join a CAMS (capital letters please) affiliated car club and speak to their Competition Secretary.
You will require a Level 2S licence (with two c's and no s) which you can obtain by filling out the appropriate form and sending it off to CAMS with your $90 (or there-abouts) fee. It will last you 12 months from the date of purchase.

That'll get you started, if you want to go real racing or rallying the cost goes up and for circuit racing you will need a full medical examination and skills test/observation as well.

No, any CAMS affiliated club will do these days. Doesn't HAVE to be a Mini club for you to run one in speed events.

you want to be a member of a club affiliated with
http://www.mscasa.com/

to run super sprints..

if you want track time at mallala, you can just go to practice days and do not require to be a member of mscasa

it lists on their website CAMS L2S license is $88 and msca membership is $20
then it costs $77 to compete at a super sprint..

your car will need to pass scrutineering.

So before you even get a car on the track you give CAMS money three ways.
1) Join a car club. The club has to pay CAMS a fee to be affiliated. (There used to be a capitation fee that the club had to pay for each member the club had, the more members, the more money paid.) So if it is $20 to join a club how much goes to CAMS? One or two dollars at least!
2) Buy a CAMS licence. So $88 for a licence that was $3 when it was introduced about 27 years ago, you only needed it for speed events like sprints and hillclimbs but there days you need it for everything. I wonder what the $88 goes to?
3) Pay an entry fee. CAMS collects money from each entry fee via CAMS permit and insurance fees. From the $77 for a supersprint how much does CAMS get? About half?

The higher you climb the ladder the more money CAMS extorts from you. :x

I decided a few years back that I would not give CAMS any more money. They have collected enough.
