 Post subject: HIF44 air filter box?

Can anyone tell me if a standard black air filter box off an 1 1/2 " carby will mount on the bigger HIF44 or do you need to get one that actually came stock on mini's fitted with the later style carby??

Nah, HIF44 has different air filter bolting holes to your 1/2.

just get yourswelf a piper cross or a K&N airfilter..much easier

yes, the black plastic box will fit if you have the HIF44 elbow
but the inlet into the box is a bit small for the big carb

...and a couple of holes underneath the box, outside the ring of the filter will take care of inlet size (a la Calver).
