I have had
Hankook 145s - much better than the original cross plys
Kumho 145s - about the same as the hankooks, but in the wet are limited IMO
Bridgestones 165 - great

except i chewed them out when the front end was misaligned so i know not how long they normally last
Falkens 165 - Best all rounder for a road car used every day i reckon because they last. The ones on the basher are 12 yrs old now, and were slippery as hell at the supersprint, but without any power it is not a real limitation.
Yokahamas 165 - the best feeling tyre of the lot, soft as all hell so they stick, but wear out quick. How quick does depend on which compound you get and how you drive. They are probably just a bit worse than the Falkens and Bridgestones in torrential rain because of the assymetrical trad design, but that is not often a problem. These are the best tyre for a weekend only car, because it does not really affect the budget if they wear out quicker, in fact they will more likely go hard before you can wear them out if you only use the car on a weekend.
I have also had Bridgestone and Yokahama tyres on other vehicles and i am strongly in favour of the Yokies for anything now.
