Hi All,
I have been advised that the diff pin has to be replaced. As this job requires the gearbox come out and while your there rebuild yada yada yada…which i have no problem in doing cause the way it is running it is not a very pleasant drive.
Clutch also may need some attention. Engine still ok but would be due for a freshening up just not yet as it is my daily driver.
The question is would it be a bad thing if i have the gearbox rebuilt now and later on down the track have the engine rebuilt. Does it make a difference
My intention all along was to have it all done at the same time, but the finances at the moment wont cover both. Then again will this kind of operation set me back more in the long run. Should i wait and save bit more and do it at the same time.
Its a 1275 im not sure but it is possible that it has had a rebuild in the past, i want to take it out to 1330 not build a superfast car but a nice to drive car.
Yeah, ideally you should do it all at once (purely for convenience), but, if the donk is running OK and the gearbox needs immediate attention....then do it!!
