I have a wanted ad posted but I am curious to know if there are any of these Speedos about.

MK1 centre clock speedo in standard Minis with 10" wheels have a Turns per Mile (TPM) of 1152 - this number is on the dial near the odometer reading. Speedos that were supplied for use with the then optional 3.44 diff had a TPM of 1280

How many people out there have a 1280 speedo in their car?

I do, it's a UK Mk2 S one (130MPH, with 200KMH inner graduations).
Doesn't quite match the 3.65 diff that it's got now, but I drive off the tacho anyhow. 8)

Another one that matches a 3.44 diff and 10" wheels well is a bigwheel Moke one, 800 turns/Km- do the maths, it's pretty close to 1280/mile. And reads to 140KMH so no mental arithmetic required.

There's another bigwheel 140KMH Moke speedo that's 860 turns/Km, it matches a 3.65 diff and 10" wheels perfect. Spot on over the 5KM road markers. We run one in Barney.
