Is their such a thing,I was told about a mini today thats supposed to be a special order mini its supposed to have power steering and air con and it was for a well known public figure here in my city, its in a shed been there for years and its cheap have not seen it yet hoping to go there sunday,(pity its a clubbie) but got to buy it anyway

Never seen power steering on a Mini here, but there is/was a crowd in Hong Kong years ago that did them.
Why?? No idea, unless you have a physical handicap I guess.

I also saw a picture of a mini panelvan shell (in aus) once that was a high top van?

is this right/ original???

There's a hightop van parked on the side of main north road. Or there was at least, and I saw another at Newport Motors a year or two ago.

High top vans did exists, I've seen a few in person, and a few in pictures. But who built them??

No power steering, but still, a very intereing mini. Has two pictures, a side on and an under bonnet pic.

And I just noticed something, I can only see one master cylinder. Which hints at the car also being an auto, but the bonnet is crammed packed, so not much can be seen, oh and it's got hydro. Very comfy mini indeed.

Just a couple of things about the Mini - Garton...
1) The Morris 1500 motor only came with a manual gearbox.
2) The Morris 1500 was an OHC engine and looked nothing like the one in the photo!

The High Roof vans were built by BMC in Sydney.

Ohhhhh...hehe. Dodgy. John Garton, he's probably still alive, look him up in the phone book,

The book has all it's info from Modern Motor magazine. So blame them for the dodgy info! (if it's not a 1500, even though it says it is. Then I think it's a Morris 1300 A series motor, doesn't look big enough to be a sideways B series or anything else.)

The book is just all the mini related articles and photos crammed into one book.

Qld. Health used to own a few high top vans and used them as utility vehicles for carting laundry items around some of the hospitals in Brisbane.

Should have asked Doc. I could have shown you pictures of a power steered auto cross car in Chicago - big tyres, lots of caster, quick changes of direction.
