hey, went out to my mini today to find a scratch next to the lock and now the lock is loose from the door. passenger side is worse than the driver's side, anyone know how i can put the locks back and tighten them again?

Get him indoors mate, if you can. Or atleast behind a gate somewhere.
Dont know about mini locks but older holden door locks had like a sliding washer withs curved prongs. As you pushed sideways onto the back of the barrell, on the inside of the door skin it got tighter.
I wouldn't think the mini would be terribly different.
Cheers
Matt
PS. The 850 will be a bit quicker on the next run. Cam and 295 head installed this week.

same thing happened to me on xmas night.
at 4 in the morning my alarm made a warning beep so i thought id go get the cat that is usually on it, off AGAIN but it wasn't a cat. it was a young guy trying to pull a door open.
i chased him down the street in my boxes and flogged him good.
:D :D :D :D :D :D

there is a clip on the inside of the door that goes around the lock. it can come loose pretty easy with the experiences i have had. :D :D

I have a strange mental picture of someone running down the street with a Box on each foot.

So you went armed with a morning glory? I would have run as well.

Glad to hear it wasn't flogged.

I drive my S daily to work and back (am i the only one who does this?) and have to park it in a large all day parking zone. I'm paranoid about one night coming out to go home and finding her gone.

My 850 has been my only car for 4 years, you learn to park in safe spots. Lots of eyes [but not on/besibe majour pathways] no hands.

Good to see i'm not the only one using the Mini as a daily vehicle. I've been questioned a few times as to why i drive such a nice looking classic car as a normal every day vehicle. How else can I enjoy it if it's stuck in a garage all the time?

Anyway, i definately should start being smarter about where I park.
