Hi, I have just purchased a Morris Mini Deluxe 68, I'm going to try and start it this weekend, but the accelerator and choke cable is not connected at the moment. Does anyone know where I could find how to fit them? Is there a mobile mini mechanic in the Sydney area I live in manly?

Thanks

Don't know about mobile mech but you could call Greig at Mini Classic.
He is in Ermington Sydney. :) Sorry can't find the number at the mo. Let me know if you can't get it ok and I will have a rummage.

Just a tip though there will probably be a post on here on how to do it. It is not hard to do and if you are going to be a caring mini owner you really should learn how to look after it your self. A lot cheaper and they really are a basic car mechanically.

Fot the accelerator there is a small boss and hole in the firewall just below the chassis beam (the one that the master cylinders bolt to) and in line with the top of the accelerator pedal. You probably can't see it easily but if you feel the area you will find it. It is behind the clutch slave cylinder.

You poke the outer cable (the end with the lead ball on the inner) into the hole and hook the ball to the top of the pedal. The carbie end should be obvious.

Cheers
Pete
