I've taken to wearing disposable surgical gloves working on the "messy" tasks - keeps the hands cleaner - no muck under the nails and hot oil don't burn as much

I get a box of 100 for $8.80 - one size fits all and either hand.

Don't forget to dispose(get rid of) the old oil in a responsible manner.
If your helpful neighbor has a cat...-then I suggest you chuck the container and old oil over it  Works a treat :D :D

i managed to NOT make a huge mess this time. i think cos rodney wasnt there to kick over the used oil container...

i went to supercrap and i was going to buy a funnel, and then i lookwd at oil pans and they were $8 including the wrench and a funnel, so i thought why the hell not?

yeahs thats what we usually do, but i had no other container to pour it inot this time.

i had 2 clean oil bottles, one new, one with 2L left, i put 4L out of the new bottle in, then emptied one into the other, and drained the dirt oil into the empty container :D

i find it hard finding something that will fit under the sump to drain the oil, i ended up using a kity litter tray (bought new for the purpose) and hacking part of the side out to fit under but had to do several times becasue does not hold enough oil.

Not all that environmentally friendly but in a more rural setting with post and wire fencing, the filter up ended on the top of a fence post lets the oil perculate down through the wood and stops the post rotting and keeps the termites out

i used to use old oil bottles with a hole cut in the side, tghey are too tall to fit inder the sump but they squish out. the tray i bought is too tall as well, but i lifted the car up a bit and it was no worries :D
