I've never actually seen one of these in the flesh - very unique!

1100, magic wand gearstick, centre speedo, rubber floor mats - no carpet

alas... can't have them all

On the assumption that its not a full restoration it looks like either a Sydney County Council electricity van (early ones were a yellow) or a GD police car.

I have not seen one in the flesh either and I would like to see the badge on the boot, it should say "Mini 1100"

A very rare car but I don't know if others will appreciate the fact.

Look at the body number YG2S6837. 837 minus 500 equals 337.
So it is the 337th Mini 1100 after twelve months of production!
That makes it a lot rarer than a Cooper S!

Some people claim that it is a mystery model or a special order model but
it is just the cheap assed poverty model designed so that they could claim
to be the cheapest car in the market.
They never intended selling any,
it was just sucker bait to get the public into the dealership to buy a dearer car.

My clubbie had the same setup.

Magic wand was from factory.

My van is also a 72 with the same set-up, magic wound, center speedo. This is the number on the plate YJBAV6R2808. Is it something special?

Thanks

All Minis are something special!
Your van is the same specs as the car on Ebay but the sedans are much rarer. Most vans were the cheap model.
The number on the plate YJBAV6R2808, the 2808 is the car number minus 500 ( the first car is always 501) means yours was the 2308th van off the line.
So in twelve months they made roughly 2300 vans vs 300 sedans in the cheap model.

Your knowledge is insane. For your info, if interested the van was built in august. Does that mean that they have built 2300 van from january to august, or they have built a total of 2300 van?

No, they made the vans in two different levels of trim (just like the sedans) The cheap model came with the magic wand and centre speedo (they dropped the centre speedo about 73 I think) The flash model came with remote change and Clubman dash.

I am just guessing that they made 2300 from about October 71 when they started that model up till they built yours in August.

From memory the poverty pack model never had the chrome around the door window frames though. This one must have had some little mods done if they clain it is one ! And yes they were 1098 with long gear stick and centre speedo.
