Did a quick search but found nothing.

I need a dry subframe to modify for a Starlet engine.

I found a decent Moke one today, in a wrecked Moke, but decided not to get it just yet as I wasn't sure if they are the same.

Also are all the suspension bits usuable on a Mini? I need a lower suspension arm as the one on our Leyland is bent a bit. And wanted to buy the subframe with all the suspension bits attached, I realise the rear suspension arms are longer, but are the front?

Moke front one is same as dry Mini, except it has various captive nuts attached for the sump guard, and brackets for the Moke front bumper (only some models have the latter I think)..
Suspension bits same except the swivel hubs have rubber blinkers screwed on em to protect the CV boots.

Was considering just PMing you Doc, but thatnks for the answer, I'll be off to the wreckers later this week to get the subframe. I also got a spare Moke sumpguard in the shed, so might come in handy afterall.

Thanks!

Is there any other good bits on the Moke? Rear trailing arms, side panels and windscreen frames are in short supply.

Cheers,

Hmm, I guess you could say it has a body. :? Mostly holes, surrounded by rust.

But nah, there's nothing left! All been stripped, rear suspension is still there, don't want to say where it is, cos I want the subframe!

Not that wreck at Pt Wakefield is it? The guy wanted $500 for it three years ago and would not sell me any parts off it. It was blue and wasted - you could fit your fist through t the rust holes in the top and bottom of the side panniers and the whole thing flexed like a banana.

Not that one, but yes there are many crapo Mokes around.

I found one in the padock of one of my parents friends properties. They offered it to me for $100. It was completely restorable, but with many, many dents, parts of the body cut for no appart reason, and holes in both foot wells, but totally repairable.

I didn't need it, but in hindsight should have got it...it was complete!

Anyways, my mate bought it as his older brother hit a curb in their Moke and bent up all the front end bits, it made a good swap over. The body was then stripped of all good stuff then given to someone else again in need of panels.

<edit> PS. Cheers, Andy, I'll take a more serious look at it to tell you if the bodies worth it.
