While in Sydney last week I caught up with Zack (1360LS) and we went for a drive down to mini king for a look . I might also point out I sent a text to Emm on the way as we waved at her house but she isn't talking to us :P . Anyway , we had a great look around and I didn't spend too much but my moke has new original seat covers to replace the torn originals (when I get time to replace them...) and some rubber flooring for the sports850 that looks close enough to the original (that's deteriorating badly) to pass till someone makes new ones . I can highly reccomend a visit to John's for anyone looking for original trim (cush , I saw some rear seat covers in the pile you might be interested in  ) .

Also , John , Thankyou for the little green mini model you gave Peter (before I'd even looked like spending any money there) while he was waiting in the stroller as Zack and I looked around , it has been his favourite toy all week and done a lot of "miles" in various motel rooms :D

Just one photo from the visit , Zack and Peter (aka the little dude) in front of the mini jem , I'd forgotten just how low they were .

Don't know , does he have a beard and drive a mini van ? Chatted briefly to someone working out the back but didn't want to disturb anyone too much .

Do you know much about the Jem there? Is it a customer's car or does it belong to Mini King?

Just asking because one of my mates has recently bought a Jem and is trying to source a windscreen. Thought the owner of the blue one might have some information.

Cheers,
Simon

Simon , I don't know anything about it myself but I'm sure if you give John a ring he'll be able to fill you in . As for the screen I've seen this one and photo's of another in Perth and neither has a screen in it so it may be a problem .

I don't think you will have much luck Simon....talking to Craig at Hay he said they were one off and NLA...he replaced the rubber as part of his resto and was very concerned about cracking the glass

I've been talking to Simon via PM about it actually , they are available in the UK but shipping is the problem . I suggested getting the various Gem (and midas perhaps if they were still the same after all those updates ??) owners together and putting in to one of the big windscreen chains to get a mould made . About 10 years ago the Hillier boys needed the gullwing door glass they use in the hearses made and the mould cost $140 to set up through windscreens obriens Sydney head office (from memory) and then screens cost whatever . they could only do them in hardened glass at that stage but who knows now , might be worth looking into if there are however many (a dozen or so I think , anyone know the full numbers ?) here and even if it costs $500 to make the mould now ...
