I once used 10 cans of primer on my Toyota Liteace van to get a resonable coverage. I would think that would be plenty on a Mini. The top coat would depend on the colour I think. It is possible to get a really good finish with spray cans but get a good brand because some of the cheep ones don't cut back very well even after weeks. When I was living in the UK a mate of mine hand brushed his Ford Anglia in navy blue and then cut it back and polished it - It looked really good and you could not have guessed it was done by brush. I don't remember what sort of paint he used though.

I did most of a Moke with 4 big ones (inside and out) but it was a bit thin.

The whole "Spray can" respray took about 20 cans ($1 cheapies from Reject shop) of red oxide and primer, followed by 30ish cans of Chrome Yellow ...

If I was going to do it that way I'd negotiate a bulk deal

Was gonna say ask Kazjim ;)

That yellow on the brick looked pretty damn good for a fair while.

My advice, use engine enamal, its petrol proof, so you wont end up with a big streek arround the tank, and its thicher, and gives a nice shine.

(just my $0.0182au, and my oppinion grows by the day!)
