I reckon 34 is waaay too high.. makes the contact patch too small. Try letting 'em down, a bit at a time- don't go too far, you will sh!t yourself under brakes at 112MPH+..

13sec... just got home.was wondering how you went..... unbeleiveable time, congratulations!!!!!!!!!. Gaf and Doc....... half a second on the drag strip is a fair whack, but when 14 psi is ready and tuned to go 13sec will be very close to the money............... to give u an idea of time vs hp i remember reading somewhere every second u drop u need roughly double the horsepower.......... like 13sec says when u r down in the 13's and 12's you are talking big hp figures

thanks guys.

out of the 5 races i only got 1 win up.

first race was a 13.1 second mitsubishi gto 3000 4wd. second was a 12.9 second wrx, third was a 16 second sss pulsar (i won) and last 2 runs were both 10 second rotors.

All races i was within 1-2 car lengths, i had better reaction times which made me look good.

Tyres are sime 175/50/13's, similar to falkens, cheap but last ages.

Fantastic Work Brad.....
Bet it all seems worth it now ?

I used to run in the mid to low 12's.....
But that was with a HJ Premier (1.2 TOnnes ?) and about 660 HP....
So to break 12's my little head says you'll need about 280 Hp, grip, and a good reaction time !

you'll do it, i can see it now... mid 2005 ?

Keep it up....
J

damn that's so sweet - that's an enviable machine......... I really want to see what it's like with no wheelspin

you want to source the back end and gearbox out of one of these..... http://www.japan-partner.com/Auto/795/T ... -sale.html.

I did put a post up here a few days ago saying i was racing, but i didnt really want to many people to see me out there on the first time, thought i was going to run 16's and look very silly.

But next time i will be with a few minis, i want atleast 5 minis out there racing with me next time, so dean, josh, kev,oz,grant and anyone else that wants to have a heap of fun let me know.

yeh i know what you mean about traction in fwd is a killer. There is such a fine line between boging down and wheel spin, if you get it right you should be able to peel of a 2.1 60 footer, my best was a 2.3 bogging down.

You going to try running it with the 13's grant?? what tyres you have on them?

from what i have heard 5% wheel spin off the start is what you wont to be aiming for.

next time brad take some more air out. on the street in mine i run 32psi in the front and 28psi in the back.

but i recon more practice and you will get quicker then 13.9 with out uping anytnig.
your right about you had good reaction time. when you where racing that little 13B dato ute you looked head to head till about hulf way down the strait.

happy for you brad. next time ill bring my mini out. :D  prolly be the slowast thing out there though. o well.
