Thanks Mini family,
Steve has to be the happiest guy alive at the moment. The car will be totally stripped and redone from a shell to the original NSW Police specs.
Once the 'legalities' are sorted, and ALL the crooks involved are rounded up, I will post photos of the car when it was recovered, and the resto process.
The insurers have been great, and things are progressing well.
Thanks once again to everyone who kept their eyes open for the car.
If you are missing your mini: DONT GIVE UP.
Check EBAY in Aust and O/S, check for unusual parts, check internet sale sites, get your mates to keep a lookout. Remember: Six months later Steve's came home in one piece.
Good luck!
Wayne

that's teriffic news - really really teriffic - give him a big slap on the back for me

I'd love to know how it was located and ID'd, but may be best to keep details out of the public eye in case of copycats

Great news! Lets hope it all leads to some news on the fate of some of the other stolen ones this year.

Im glad I live in a country town, where I sometimes leave the keys in the cars, I have even left keys in my 04 Cooper S ign, and found them the next morning...

Glad to hear your mini has returned, My mate Stu Jones had his new mini stolen and used for ram rads... Glad yours wasn't at least you will be able to get a good paint job
