i was just reading on 16v, guys talking about there car pulling different ways because of there subframe bushes? ive taken to subbys out of 2 clubbys over the last yr, and i havnt seen a single rubber bush or anything resembling a bush, is there such thing? lis there somthing that goes between the floor panel and the A sections of the subframe? :shock: cause theres nothing between mine

maybe they mean the bushs on the lower control arms. If they are rooted it will affect the handling.

They are probably talking about the rubber mounts used on all UK front subframes from `76 on. F**ks up the handling big time.
We never got 'em here- ours are ALL bolted straight to the body, as Issigonis intended!
Apart from U guys driving Rover etc imports.. :wink:

Yes i was about to say. Rovers have subframe mounts that are bolted thru the floor pan. It's a scary thought really.

This is why, when people want Rover engine conversions, the same mounting points as the rover subframes must be used so holes must be drilled in the floor to mount the subframe.

WHY can't you pull the motor & box off the Rover one and use the original? No way I would want one of those rubber mounted POS in mine! :lol:
Besides the top and front mount setup is different too, rubber as well! :x

:lol: No idea. Maybe because theres lots of rusty subframes around and people want the "later and better" Rover ones :?

If you have ever driven a rover mini you will notice the ride on the car is a lot
nicer than oz minis.... if you want a nice car to drive use rover frames
if you want performance and handling use oz solid mounted frames, lot more road noise and vibration

Dr mini... you can always use the rover sub frames but convert the mounts to solid steel ones, these subframes have a lot less wear, and actually come apart.
