Heard it before I saw it, sounded niiiice -- Red Rover Mini, white (sportspak?) wheel arches, black/white chequerboard roof, white bonnet stripes.

Big dude, big bushy greying beard behind the wheel ;)

Don't know about anyone else, but this is the first Mini I've seen on the roads in inner Melbourne in months. Roadgoing Mini's are getting rarer...

That be me in the wife's Rover because mine is dead

Reminds me, I should really do something to quieten it down a bit - but she likes it that way :D

She prefers to drive the Kia during the day so that the girls don't complain (as much) about lugging their school bags into the back of the Mini

The mini reffering to Mutant or something else?
Wait....it's cause you don't want to be seen in the kia, not the girls in the mini.
:D

No Mutant is still tucked in bed (she's a bit of a late riser, especially in winter  )

With the demise of my Cooper, what's going to happen is that I'm getting a new car from work (unfortunately not a Mini) which Jan will use as her daily driver (bugger), and I'll use the Kia for all the miles I do commuting (at least it has air) seeing as it's only worth a few thousand as a trade-in so I may as well drive it into the ground for a few years.

But in the mean time until the new car arrives we're a daily driver short so Jan's Cooper has been employed on a short term contract to bridge the gap - and the girls don't like it if they have to drag their school bags into the back seat - so Jans using the Kia still and I've scored the Cooper

It's all as clear as mud really :?

Yes Bob - it's handy having it, but if we didn't we would have had to manage some other way.

It's only a bus + V-Line train + 2 x Met Trains + a km walk to work - let's see after about 2 days of that I reckon I would have bought another Mini anyway

It's done the Cooper good anyway. It didn't get enough driving and was running rough. After 2 weeks it's now running smooth as 8)
