Hmm i never thought of that. I need to put the split pin back in the clutch so i'll just steal the r clip from my r/c car

I reckon it would be a real good idea to run some fine wire from each clip and cable tie it so all you would have to do would be cut the cable tie and pull the wire to get the clips off. That should save some agro at least. Use stainless pins and the job shold not be to bad. Failing that get some one else to do it.

hehehehehehe look who's having fun

had to replace my clutch master cylinder some time ago and had a bugger of a time trying to get the clevis pin back through the holes. Easy enuf to get it out but when you reverse the process :x :x blood - swearing etc Tried to pull it through by threading some garden wire through the holes and pulling it with some guidance from the left hand.
Oh yes, I also had the heater off so that I could see what was happening.

More swearing, it was getting pretty late by now and Mrs Rodney bought me a cup of coffee. She asked if she could help (must have heard me swearing) so I showed her the tiny holes all nicely lined up and said to get this *********** pin through there.

What the.......................10 seconds and her little fingers had the job done and she was asking for the washer and R clip. Would any of you want her to come help you. You only have to pay her air fare from Geelong and back..............

Doc is again right use 'R' clips when you put it back together.

To take the pins out and replace I have a special tool that someone made up and left it in my Mini when I took it for a cleavice pin replacement. Ha Ha Ha
