Unless I wake up in the morning, turn the key of the mini and it runs on all 4 cylinders I probably will not make it tomorrow.

Because of the oil leak from the rocker cover gasket (since fixed) I wanted to wash all the oil off the motor. I have done this before and as is the normal teh car ran rough when I first retsarted it. But unlike previous times it has not improved I have triple checked everything but cant work out whats causing the problem.

I'm tired of wasting my days with my head under the bonnet so I have just put it away.

i am saddened tremendously.
i will ceremoniously write a 'maybe' against your name and hope it will be only temporary.

chris it will most probably be electrical. If you have wet the coil while it was hot they can stuff up, next thing would be the dissy cap, i take it you sprayed abit of wd40 in it, did you use a gernie?? may have taken a wire off somewhere?? come on mate get it going, i wanna see the beast out there tomorrow.

Maybe we can do a detour to your house and see if we can get it going.

Well it was a brand new GT 40 coil and I have put WD 40 on every part I can find. It’s not back firing just running really rough. With only me here trying to work out what's going on it makes it a bit hard. It’s just on 8:30 now so I'm not going to annoy the neighbors have done that enough today. I'm thinking I may have got the filters wet and the Webber has sucked in a gut full of water.

i once was 4wd driving in a my old suzuki serria when i went thru a creek that was over 1.5 meters deep, lets just say it gulped a heap of water into the carby, conked out and never started again.
motors need alot of water sucked into them to harm them, some v8's run water injection into the carbys. If yours is still running and is rough id have to say that it would be electrical, maybe timing has moved?

Pull the plugs and look at `em, could be just a dud plug or lead, maybe.

Changed all the plugs twice no diffirence.

Just went out an changed the coil no diffirence. Have triple checked all the leads. It's not back firing its just not running right. I think its running all all 4 just not right.

Let it dry out overnight, it'll probably start first thing. the points are made from a porous material, if it has been wet it needs time to dry. time is all it needs. My thoughts

cheers

Your credit is good, LOL..

<edit> I hope you bought the right GT40 coil.. if new type (funny looking) it should be a GT40-T, to run without a resistor. If you use the resistor type coils without one, they can get funny & break down..
<edit 2> I've got a spare GT40-T, will bring in case.
