He's got his hand on it, I think it is possible for a Traveller to be worth $20,000, but that ones nothing special.

I paid $8000, for mine, it doesn't even go and needs a full restoration. Its a very early smooth roof with internal tank and wood though.

i dont normally criticise people minis as they are there pride and joy, but notice how the extrior photos are fomr far away and the rest is close up which means form the one picture the body doesnt look right as in the paint job is not right.
The colour is not right for the year.
the interior does look nice i admit but imagine going home after being on a major bender and getting into that.

Hi Guys, Just to add 'my ten Cents worth'. I have to agree with all the above comments, there is definetly some interesting non standard Mods. Notice the rear of the back seats and the strange little boxes?

I do like the idea of the wind up windows as the sliding windows do nothing for ventilation.

As for cost, I paid $150.00 for mine, in 1978. and it will never be for sale whilst i'm alive.

Garry

I paid nothing for mine in 2002. Just had to drive to Cobram with a car trailer and pick it up. :D

saw a mini van in a dealers yard on south road near classic car collectables when i was driving past. was walking down that way today so i popped in to have a closer look. and what do you know, its the traveller that was recently on ebay. It was on ebay for 20K (reserve not met). I asked the owner how much he wanted, he said 26K!!! yikes. someone buy this quick, this car is appreciating in value at an amazing rate!!!! hehe

There was a lady there looking at it also, said she had an 61 850, but had engine swapped with a '78, so im guessing out of some clubman. Anyway she said he was dreaming.

As for the car had a quick look in real life. it looked nice up close altho, the end bits of the mostauche missing??? the button panel does not look original??? and there are a few places where the paint is chipped and you can see rusted body... being picky? well for 26K wouldn't you expect something like this in mint condition?

If this is the car thats for sale in a SA car yard for $24999 then i had a good look at it last week when i was over there picking up mini bits from brickworx, the car yard is walking distance from steves place and yes it is rare and collectable, BUT that car in that condition i wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it. I have owned 2 travellers over the years and one of the cars that i sold for $600 was in better condition.

Been a while since you looked at the value of round front minis I'd suggest?

I think any thread that talks about how much a particular Mini variant is worth...could be used by undesirables for criminal purposes.

Anyway....anybody who owns a Traveler or a Countryman should not ever be contemplating selling....too nice to have :!: :D

not true, dave worked at northern mini parts for ages and has always been around minis, knows the "value" of cars, but also doesnt dream up prices for cars that need resto's, what the point on charging somebody else stupid prices when the car needs to be rescued...
im giving my mini k to sports 850 for nothing, im just glad its going to a good home

And I'm thrilled to be getting it as the base for my 40th birthday project and have a lot of respect for Geoff for giving it to me instead of charging a fortune for it because it's the right month and year for me .

and thats why im doing it, making somebody else happy and the mini deserves it, its been a good car.
somebody that knows the "value" of it would start up with..."well its got lift up door handles and square tail lights and a cooper front diagnol brace" etc etc
whats the point, another mini lives.. thats all that matters.
my 2c
