That before I drive out of my driveway, I should always have a FULL jerry can with me! :x

Yes, again I have run out of petrol in my mini. And yet again I didn't have my jerry can full, let alone in the car. Why do I persist in tormenting myself this way. I'm sure I have the worlds largest collection of tin jerry cans, many only used once!

Did i notice the fuel pump was a little louder than usual on start up- Yes. Is this unusual- Yes. Did I think to fill up- No.
Luckily this time i was only 2 blocks from a servo, which also happens to be 1 door down from my house... Well, at least I didn't have to buy another jerry can!
That reminds me, I need to put my jack back in...

so this means that your mini is boosting around again?
congratulations!, hope to see you out in it soon..
the bay to birdwood is this sunday i think.
i want to get a small plastic fuel container because i dont want to put a metal one near the battery

i've run out of fuel twice in my minis, once in the middle of oconnel street in my deluxe because it had a badly innacurate fuel guage, luckily i had a can with fuel in it.

the other time after picking up my current mini from the workshop after paying $20 for fuel on the bill i ran out about 500 metres down the road..
i had to walk and get a can

Yep finally on the road again. Have been through a few tanks now and am pretty happy with it. Has been a challenge getting this car to a drivable/reliable stage so hopefully all things stay that way!

Might have to check out the bay to birdwood if it is sunday, it basically goes past my door anyway.

I keep a 10L plastic Jerry can (it's half the height of a 20L one) fits in nicely in the boost on my boot board.

The orgional design of the mini had something along these lines to prevent this problem. It's called a fuel tank guage :D very useful thing

Only if they work AND they're accurate.
