 I want one of those train horns!

Maybe I should look into getting something like that!

if you don't go the air horn way I recommend the twin horns of a VX Calais. Sounds very nice, that European sweet sound.

Just get two standard Lucas horns and play with the adjusters and fit a relay. Get the Hi-note/Low-note thing happening.
Much better than air horns as they have no delay while the pump builds up pressure.
My Morris 1100 came standard with dual horns and once I gave them a clean and a tune In can scare anyone with them.

I had/have twin air horns in my front right guard, they were good until they cloged up with dust and now it sounds like your blowing at someone...usless
I'm thinking of looking at another horn aswell so this thread came along at the right time  I still have the standard horn hooked up and just ran a new relay and second switch for the air horns.

I put a single Fiamm horn (Auto One stocks them - $30) and binned the original after almost being taken out despite honking. Made in Italy and plenty loud enough.

The new horn impressed plenty of people at the Mini King BBQ when MiniMad decided to give it a good work out, LOUD and very annoying (the horn, not MiniMad :) )

these are the air horns i have on the mini and celica,
http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... =air+horns (only a link to where the pic is)
but yeah these horns scare the crap out of anyone, ive had some good times with them, in the celica and a 4WD cuts me off and i blare this thing for 3 seconds and everyone infront of me moves into the left lane like im tumbling bulder in indiana jones,

they run off a comprest air container which you refill at a petrol station with a tyre pressure pump,

Fiamm air horns, twin or triple. Buy metal trumpets not plastic, they sound LOUDER and shriller. :P
I liberated mine from a spare Fiat 124 Sport I owned. 8)
They sound the same as those you hear in the italian job (original) when they are ramming the car carrier into the doors of the warehouse. :D

Just to clarify, the Fiamm I used is a standard horn in a seashell shape.

Easy, face the trumpets straight down. Plastic is fine considering the best place to put them is up under the gaurd where noone sees them.

Keep the original for when you want to have a cute horn at social occasions

It was the compressor that cloged up, I know because I stuck the trumpets on the compresed air line and their fine

Those air horn compressors do like a drop of light oil every pancake day. otherwise the vanes stick, and you get a big delay before they blast.
