Hmmm, either my FD is different to an SPi car, or my speedo is further out than I thought!

I had a knowledgeable mate replace all the seasls and gaskets and give the box a good going over before putting it in the car. We tested it in a paddock buggy first too. That Mini-based buggy is Auto to make it easier to shoot roos while on the move!

My clubman that had the 1275 auto rover motor in was nice to drive, would easily to 120 on the motor way at about 3,500 rpm with the A/C blasting away.

Be aware that the boxes are tempermental especially if the front cut its in has been sitting round for a while, the seals in the box go hard & gives you lots a trouble, trust me i know

Doogie

cheers, sounds good xcept for the seals bit.

Hey I hav an 850 998 and 1300 auto which is being plonked into a clubbie.
The 850 I hav only been up n down the drive in. Has no breaks so not been to far.
The 998 is in my wifes mini Its been to work a few times 30 kms on the motrway. It is slow but ive changed the needle so i think it might be better Its fun to drive n fun with foot to the floor......n break some times.
The 1300 I had a drive in one which was hotted a bit. that was fun.
I got to drive the 1300 thats goin into my clubbie b4 the engine was taken out of the car....Its not the same as the 1300 has the bigger wheels.
Ive gota sort the breaks n put a water pump on so Im not gona know it goes for a while.
Cheers
Damon

I found out today Metro A+ 1275 Autos did have a 2.76 diff! This works out to 3.17ish overall. A bit tall methinks.

I'm running 185/60R13 rubber and I think it goes well in the lightweight Moke. Now I'm itching to try 165/60R12 to see how much better it goes!

Cheers,

Cheers,

Drop gears must be different to early ones then.
The Morris 1100S had 3.76 overall, although the diff itself was 3.26.
My mate had one in a Mini, he used to run hi-profile 12" tyres on front and Mini 10" on back.

Nah, the drop gears are the same, it's just the Final Drive that's different. :)
