hi i bought a 12g295 head off ebay with the intention of just needing to buy valve springs for it as he said no resessing of the valves and that they were good......i got the head and just today i went overto order a new valve as one was a different size to the rest. and they measured them and what do ya know they were standard 1100...12g202 head valves. the bloke from ebay lied to me. and now its gonna cost me like $264 to get the right valves and the seets to be recut. im only 18 and have just finished yr 12.... so i got ripped off and now will not be getting my gear box checked ova and pulled apart....it will justy be put in and i will hope for the best.
this is just a warning to those people buyin stuff off ebay BEWARE. thanks for listin to me whingin

I think everyone should offer a return policy on ebay. I do for all my listings. If for any reason the listing does not meet the criteria listed the buyer can return to me for the cost of postage.

There will always be dodgy people on eBay but there will always be decent people doing the right thing.

Hey mate,

I feel for you. This stuff happens... but you can raise a complaint through Ebay.
Have you done that?

Look on ebay about it and you will find info... you may be able to send it back and get your money back (if you did everything through ebay/paypal)

Good luck,
Peter.

That won't stop me buying off eBay - I subscribe to the theory "caveat emptor" (Let the buyer beware).

It sucks what has happened and something like that has happened to me as well (for a similar amount of money) but I only had myself to blame though - I should've let it go because I left it too late to ask questions. Anyways, that's all in the past now.

Geez that GR is a top bloke.

Hope everything gets sorted out nice and easily for you.

I had a similar thing when I bought stuff out of Ebay. Some Guy sold me a 1275 block complete with bearing Caps and bored out to what ever with pistons to suit. When I got the block it was an Automatic one. He never mentioned a thing about it being an Auto. I still modified it to Manual and used it.

yeah unfortunately with auction sites, its up to the buyer to make sure that all questions are asked before the sale ends. i bought a set of bump stops off ebay and the item got lost by australia post (probably my fault for not paying the extra for express postage) but classic motoring was good enough to express out another set of bump stops free of charge. great fella and great company. its glad to know that there are people out there who think theres more to life than the bottom dollar and do good things for others out of the goodness of their hearts. lucky for us, alot of them drive minis :P

was it registered mail?? contact the seller first before you do anything and try to sort it out before you report it to ebay and leave negative feedback.
