hi

i was wondering whether the honda civic disc brakes can be ground down or modified to suit ten inch wheels? i want to go for the cheaper set up but... everyone says that u can fit em on 12's and up, i know u can grind down toyota corrolla discs with ford callipers, but they cost a fortune

please help

OK.. yes they do fit 10", after some serious mods to discs and pads and a tickle of the calipers. And not all 10" wheels fit, steels or LS offset Contessas for example.
I now suggest to people that they fit 12s, this way you do not need to mod any of the above, you get better stopping with the 9" discs and can run wheels with less offset. Even run without flares if wanted.

Haven't tried them. Can try some Dunlops on Sat, dunno if exact same offset but they are very similar wheels.

As I said before.. only discs available here that will fit into 10" wheels with NO mods at all, are 7" Cooper or 7.5" Cooper S.
OK yes, I know they cost $$$$.. but that's the price of admission. Anything marked Cooper costs $$$,

IMHO, if I was heading out onto a track, and getting up to some high speeds, I would run nothing but original equipment... ie: Cooper S discs

Personal opinion only.....(says he with Honda discs :? )

We will see if Mini Mad can outbrake my 7.5" S discs with his 9.1" Hondas then, at Wakefield Pk track day. I expect he will. Stay tuned.. 8)

Kev, you could always shove some carbon metallic pads on those S discs, they are good! You could really try some laaaaate braking then. Steve
