provided you know what you're doing with auto carpet i dont see why it would be a problem. if you dont, you will run into all sorts of hassles as you will never get the fit right, and in some places it needs to go around corners unnaturally.

if i ahve unsettled your nerves (sorry) try an auto carpetter, im sure there is a good one up your way but in vic there is a place called Knox auto carpets or something, they are pretty ood

also, cost is a factor. a sdet of mini crapets form them is around the 2-300 dollar mark. if youre going to spend close to that on materials you might as well get it pre made... but as if you cxan spend that much on carpet?

cheers

Unfortunately the carpet you'll get from most (all) moulded-type suppliers is crap.

The only way to get aroung that is to buy nice English Wool carpet, and make up a set, like the Cooper 9 piece.

Of course, it comes at a cost - You will need 2.5 metres, at about $200 a metre, plus binding, heel pad, fittings, etc :(

+1 on the moulded carpets, I was never happy with the Australian branded carpets I fitted to my car - despite the name, they didn't fit properly.

The cheapie carpet sets that most Mini places sell for around the $170 mark I think are pretty good both fit and quality for what you pay, but I don't know how well they last (got to be better than the moulded carpets I have, they were daggy after a year!)
