Ah yes, being an apprentice - I remember it well. Trying to live on $107 per week as a first year boilermaker in the mid '80's - tough!

Geez thats not bad for the 80's!

I was on $160 clear as a 1st year back in 97....... Per week was: $100 to my bank loan, $30 beer, the other $30 was for Fuel and misc.....
Mid 70's, appreptice radio tech, $56 bucks a week.

hello everyone thanks for the advice, i havent been on cause yes the internet bill came in and had to deal with that cause telstra wouldnt reconnect after i paid...

anyways the rust is in structual areas. d/s lower front corner juz infront of the drivers door, 2 big bubbles in the seams, 2 little bubbles under the gutters and some bubbles near the passenger side headlight :( .

i know what everyone is saying about juz do a quick repair and get the slip but im actually waiting on my tax return which should be $3000.

maybe we can organise a massive repair day on tiny and have a bunch of ausmini members over to help out with the repairs,

the payment can be free booze and bbq. and suppling the bits needed.

that amount of rust -especially structural maybe a bitter beyond a weekend slap and dash.

A quick patch will get you through pink slip but paint and prep will be quick and nasty. If your OK with that I am happy to assist.

Dont Sell. Everyone's saying it but it's really good advice. Not that I've ever had a mini to sell, but I will be kicking myself when troy takes his mini back to melbourne, and thats nothing compared to your situation, I havent really put anything into troys car but I will miss it. Imagine when your car is sold...

I know there is a train station at hurstville (I forget where you live and work) but a better option would be to store tiny, and catch a train to where someone can pick you up to car pool to work or something.

Last option is selling yourself

Keep the car. I sold mine a few years ago and bought a commodore. was kicking myself 5 mins after the buyers left. Back in a mini now though.
