Hmmmm looks a bit suss...the Australian Regular Army (ARA) usually cut away guards etc for better access improved break-over angles etc etc ad nauseum. That dash lower edge looks diabolical...knee slicer!!

I'd like to see more evidence such as a Defence Tally plate...even then...it might just be an army moke that someone has had a go at

I'd say a home made job. At the very lease a highly modified body. Have a look at the side on view. Note: no pressings in the box section.

Even the floor tunnel is weird (usually some of that survives rust), not sure about 'will need engineers certificate' when apparently it was registered 15 or 20 years ago?, no pressings, not even on the 'tailgate'. Very suss I would say!

Nobody goes to that much effort without a reason, especially 15 to 20 years ago when mokes themselves were 6 to 11 years at their youngest!

There must be a bit of a story surely...an fabricating apprentice's workshop project for a first wild guess?

here's what I asked...

Quote:
interesting car! the body is completely home-made, there is nothing factory about it. You say that the front fenders have been re-made, but it's really the whole car is not an original factory made vehicle. Do you have any other details of where it came from?

and the reply

Quote:
i know little about mini mokes and im only passing on information that the previous owner gave me. how much he knows, your guess is as good as mine. thanks

no fun there... :(

After staring at it for 5 minutes, I'm still wondering what this reason is.

It's not ARA, it's the rare choke prototype sent to australia for evaluation.

Yes Al but considering that you're sleeping in the garage with the moke still since you bought it without "permission" you see more of it than most moke owners ....
