Congratulations, and welcome to Mini ownership, Michael.
Thats one cool looking Mini.

You will find that everyone will be all over the place when it comes to tyre choice.

It really depends on how you want to use your mini.

Looking at the pictures of your car on the NSW club website, it appears that your car is fitted with 12" Revolution wheels.

You will find that most of the performance tyres available for the Mini are in the 10" size. There is not a lot of choice in the 12" size.

Being a 1995 Mini your car will have 8.4" disc brakes on the front, and so fitment of 10" wheels will not be an option, unless you change to the smaller 7.5" Cooper S brakes.

I have been quite happy with Bridgestone tyres in the 12" size for my Rover Mini, but I'm sure you will receive many suggestions.

Cheers,
Ray.

Thanks for that, Ray. So there's limited options on the tyres.

Anyway, suspension first.
(I almost lost a coffee this morning, the ride is that hard)

I've just started my holidays so the learning curve starts this morning.

Thanks for all the replies, guys.

I've just gotten home in the green car that is/was on the NSW Club's Trader section! :P :P :P

From what everyone's written above, I can see I have a fair bit to learn. I don't even know what the setup is, so the first step will be to get myself a workshop manual. It's probably a bit late now to ask Santa for it.

Ray, you mentioned tyres. That was going to be my next question. Is there a general consensus on this or is everyone everywhere on this?
You bought a mini and no manual.....hmmmm

How good are the Spax! I got onto their website and discovered how to adjust them. No tools, no ramps, no anything, just dial up how hard or soft you want them.

Anyway, the car was on it's hardest setting. It's a lot softer now. 8)

It's a bit late to worry about tyres today, so they'll be the job for Monday.
