Ok I am doing up a mini as some of you might know from other posts I have made on here but it looks like I could be having to put it off for a while, due to uni and a possible house purchase.

I will give you the run down on it, it is painted, has the whole back end in eg. subframe, breaks, suspension (basically all ready to go). No windows, most of the interiour, no seals at all are on. Is always covered and I do have a good car cover ready to go on. Is under house so never gets wet and is never damp or gets hot.

What I want to know is how long will everything last if I leave it? Get will the break cylinders get rooted, will the shocks go crap, will the rubber cones die.....etc. (all these items are new) Engine is of no concern as it isn't going back in. I have nearly ever part to finish the car just no time to do it :( is very sad.

Also what else would you recommend I do to it before leaving it for a while. It will get worked on ever so often but not very often. Will probably be a couple of years before it is finished :( It is very sad but these things happen. There is no way in hell I want to sell it, but I also don't want it to be crap the next time I go to work on it. Hopefully everything will stay good not getting used but I just thought I would ask. Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks.

I'd imagine things should be fine, as its going from wet to hot that wrecks rubber. If the car is left on chassis stands, then nothing will have to put up with the weight of the car on it, so shouldn't mould into any weird shapes. Maybe drain the fluids to stop them giong bad, but otherwise it should be fine. The important thing is it's inside.

Yep...it will all deteriorate...you better just give it to me

You could try flushing out your Brake Fluid and replacing it with synthetic. Normal fluid is hygroscopic (the water get in son!) andcan rust wheel cylinders etc :!:

haha um no...this baby is in mint condition after all the work I have put into it and it ain't going anywhere, unless it is with me.

Has no fulids in it as it is all out of the car so nothing to worry about there. Thanks for the replies, thought everything should be ok and it is good to know it should. Hopefully it won't be sitting around for too long I want the little beastie on the road.
