The MCCNSW attends this event and have over 50-60 people each year that drive down. Over 200 minis do a parade, show and shine and the socialise. Then onto the motorkhana the following day. If your not into the motorkhana, do something else on the sunday. Good fun!
Cheers

Aaron

I personally am not going to drive 10 hours, sleep on a floor next to 27 other drunken bums. Parade around, and then go in a dirt motorkhana. Not my idea of fun.
Take a look at MG car club...
A different state organise each year.... a supersprint, bitumen motorkhana, regularty/obsrevation run/treasure hunt, dinner and major concourse.
Much better idea. You get to try a lot more more events... non repetitive.
Lobby the mini clubs to help....

Yes and neat wicker picnic baskets, full cutlery sets, champagne and strawberries, cloth caps, string back gloves, pukka chaps etc etc

So you are saying you can't arrange some accommodation at or around Hay and have a drink with Duncan (you know, in moderation!! RIP Slim) and relax and enjoy the fun? :?:

MGCC is organised Australia wide...with that sort of ommmph you can arrange a National Meet (Dubbo in March 2005)

I could arrange to go... and i would probably have a lot of fun.
But... I'm not going to take a good car on dirt khana.
And it's the same event every year. I like the thought of going to different states, meeting different people, different events. It doesn't need to be champagne breakfasts and picnic runs.... Add a little mini fun into the picture

Well for a start you could get hold of all the Mini CC events programs for the year....looks like the VIC Show and Shine is a good un about Sept?, the QLDers have a Muster and several runs, we in Canberra have Wheels 2005 (ACT Council of Cars show for charity), our Show and Shine in November, various runs throughout the year, Wagga Show and Shine in October long weekend, Hay Nationals in June etc ....not to mention Minis Racing around the country etc etc....hey, your business is going to suffer

The truth is out there!!

True... There is a lot that goes on that i should be at.
I'm not sure sbout eastern states, but over here i feel the clubs are all against each other(hence i'm not a member of a mini club).
In the end it becomes petty and stupid. The true meaning of the club is lost....the mini.
We as south australians(or whichever state your in) should unite to show ourselves off to the other states, but we do not.
If there was a convoy going to an event i would join in.

Don't know about the politics of your state but the only way it will ever change is if apolitical people get involved.

You could always move to another the state!! (the local Mini dealer here was for sale....prolly still is!!) :P

Wouldn't be a bad idea...
Yes it is too political for my liking, and my views are probably influenced by this.
