Im confused, they claim to have the fastest mini in Oz, so does Greig Malure, so how has REALLY got the fastest one?

Doogie

Greig don't do as many meetings as Andrew

I think we need a grudge match (straight line speed)- I'll bet on Greig.

why did they interview some guy who had never raced minis and didnt want or like to race them?

and also i would have liked to see some shots of the car going around a racetrack not just potting about the carpark.

It was just a plug for Rare Spares really, in TVspeak I'd call it filler.

Apart from the pointless bit with JB, I was disappointed by the whole thing, because why show you the fastest Mini in Oz, and not shoe a single shot of it on the track.

The interviews were shot on the dummy grid at Winton, so obviously the car would have been on the track within minutes of filming, yet not an ounce of footage - the Minis always look great when there's a gagg;e of them coming through the Esses onto the main straight - right where the dummy grid is.

Speedweek? Slow, driving around the carpark weak.

Grr...

I also agree that it would be great to have a grudge match between Andrew and Greig, but also include a few others like Matt McGrath's old Group N Mini (now in Tassie) and maybe some Victorians, like Ted Brewster, Lindsay Siebler and Henry Draper, and maybe some others from other states - Qld, SA, etc. Of course everyone would want to have their best engines and have their cars sorted to perfection. We could put them all together in a racing series, and call it Mini Racing Australia - oh, hang on that already exists - and it's terrific (just needs a bit more support). Henry, Lindsay and Andrew already compete regularly in that, so we just need to Grieg involved.

Cheers,
Watto.

Kinda works in well that you guys down south are ahead of us, time wise. Gave me time to flick over to SBS and to get ready to hit record! Was a bit of a let down though. But as some one mentioned earlier, it was just air time for Rare Spares.

Here's their sport sedan taken at the Doug Byrne last year. Love the transporter.
I see that the appendix J is for sale.

27 January - gone
Next one 29 June.
Then some time in September (all these three at Wakefield Park)
Then the Doug Byrne Memorial trophy at Winton in November or early December.

Cheers,
Watto.
