Hello i thought i would introduce myself.
My name is Ryan from shepparton victoria and would like to restore a mini. I'm hoping to get a cooper s either mk1 or mk2.
I have seen cooper s sold between 9k and 16k in good condition and restored ones between 20k and 30k.
Is this in the ballpark? any other opinions / suggestions would be helpful.

Cheers Wolfmini

The advice given to me was buy the best one you can afford to reduce the amount of work that is required. Also, make sure if you are paying for a Cooper S you actually get a Cooper S. Many will tell you on ausmini that you can have just as much fun in a non S mini and with the money you save on the purchase you can bring it up to whatever standard you want with all the good bits. Good luck and enjoy!

As others have said - but even one in very poor condition will cost you $7k. Then twenty thousand to restore it.

The numbers you quoted are a ball park. So, buy the best you can afford but again as others have said - know that you are buying an S not a replica. Become a Cooper S replica detection expert before you part with any money.

Check all the numbers before you buy anything to verify it is what you think it is  Good luck with your search for an S.
