The seats are the same as the saxon green ones by the look of it.

There are three different 850 trim patterns, the early fleck, then the lizard skin and finally the diagonal (effect) fleck.

Niceboy1275 are the latter diagonal fleck, and the 63 car Sports is showing could be the same, or one of the earlier types, too hard to tell.

Anyway, I believe that a 64 would have had the Diagonal as per Niceboy1275.

Our 62 Saxon Green has the Lizard skin pattern.

Cheers 8)

Hi guys,

Thanks heaps for everyone's valauble input. I was a bit busy recently because a new family member is coming in 2 weeks so everyone is exhausted now.

So once I got some interior pics, I will start asking lengthy questions and whatnot  .

But it seems my seats doesn't have the big "Lips" (I hope you know what I am talkigna bout here. Hm..like..when you sit, the back of your knees will wrap around it, but it's the diagonal pattern as the ones you guys posted).

The dash and door cards are totally wrong on my car I think cus they are in black. However, the sunvisor are original ( I have cleaned them up using Preen and they came up like new - dunno how to put them on).

Yes, I will need interior parts Anthony, definately. i am in Sydney, where about are you? Pics will be up soon.

btw, I have managed to get a 79 Leyland Clubman S from my friend, he just want it out of his garage. Cus he's got too many cars and he just want to put all the money in his Mx-5. He paid $3000 for paint job, panel work on the clubby in 2001, the color wasn't original (nightfire red, like Monster Mini's one) but I think it's a super bargain, No rust (but 1 to 2 spots near the dash which could be easily fixed by the people here - not me - i am dumb with these things cus I am a newbie). Paint job only to exterior, the interior is in the original orangish/redish color(can't tell what is the exact color, same with the engine bay). It took me 3 hours to get it into my garage. But I was so excited because it's in so excellent conditon. But cus moving the car from his garged, there are some inevitable scarchtes and paint chip (very little)...The guy who towed the car here said after I finished it, it would be an awesome looking car.
I jsut got crazy when I saw it arrived on Friday....No joke...but was so damn tired cus i had a long week and i had to ask my neighboour (another 2 blokes) to help me slide the car into the gargae (cus the tyres are flat and didn't seem it to roll much - yes u have to slide the car on its wheels - not roll, imagaine the fiction, i just have a really sore back and leg now)

I will do a proper reply next time when I have the both car's pics ready..

Thx.

Ben

oh as well, forgot to ask, are Minis painted in acrylic back at those days? My one is in acrylic.

How is it better or worse compared to 2pac? I dunno if the color or the type of paint itself, but it doens't look as shiny as the cars in 2 pac

850s here were painted in baked enamel, BMC started using acrylic in about 1967-68 I think.

Hi Ben,
Im in QLD. Unfortunately i dont have any spare diagonal pattern in that colour. Clubbie sounds awesome, and expecting a child is fantastic. Sincerely hope the arrival is safe and free of complications. All the very best to you and mum.
I feel your pain in regards to moving cars sideways into garages. I have two parked that way. Although picking up a mini does make me and my helpers feel like a freakin huge men

An easy way to move a car sideways in a garage is to park the car on a pair of shovels, and you just grab the handles of the shovels and the car moves fairly easily with steel on concrete instead of rubber on concrete.
Or pump the tyres right up and spray the concrete with silicone spray (not if you are ever going to paint a car in that garage!)

Re niceboy 1275:

Nice car, and nice interior. Are those the original carpets? but it looks like it is of some other kind of material to carpets.

Re spaceboy:

it is a porcelian green interior?

Re grey 64:

Oh, its cool. Thanks, hope no complications. Hm..I didn't move the car sideways. It got in the normal way, but just like with brakes on :x

By the way, some pics now up: http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40255

Ben , 850's didn't have carpets , they originally had a rubber matting over the floors which are also no longer availible . I bought some carpets from a left hand drive mini from mini king a year or so ago that I've now fitted upside down in the sports850 , the carpet (carpet is very thin, almost like a velour) has a rubber backing that's very close to the original rubber , is durable and usable .
